The Kent Association of Local Councils (KALC) Community Award serves to acknowledge and give recognition to those outstanding individuals who have made a significant and positive contribution to their local community.

Recognised for their long-standing commitment to the floral displays in Cliffe village, the Cliffe in Bloom team were the proud recipients of the 2025 Award. Cameron Ross accepted the award from the Parish Council Chairman, Barry Dibble, at the Annual Parish Meeting on 17th April, 2025.

Cliffe in Bloom was founded over 15 years ago by Cameron having been inspired by the beautiful floral displays in other villages and wanting to bring the same to Cliffe. Using funds from the Cliffe Summer Ball, private donations and his own savings, Cameron and his wife grew the young plants and, with the help of friends from Cliffe Memorial Hall, planted the flowers in concrete planters and hanging baskets around the village. Eventually the original planters have been replaced and a new growing base is now used at J. Wright's farm, meaning Cliffe in Bloom continue to flourish today. This massive commitment to provide and maintain the displays on behalf of our community is a testament to Cameron's leadership, passion and tireless dedication, and the Parish Council were delighted to present this award to him and the Cliffe in Bloom team.

Nominations for the 2026 Award will open in November/December this year.
